最后的时候，画面转到炮兵阵地上，他在大声指挥，开炮，开炮！仿佛听到他的声音一般，一颗炮弹呼啸而来，他倒下了。等他起来，看到的是另外一幅景面，家乡的景象，无数的人在喧嚣，仿佛在庙会，仿佛是在赶集，看到熟悉的人在叫卖，吆喝。他转身，穿过喧闹，径直走向一个医院，那是他离开家乡，参军的地方。走到门口，愣住了，门口黑鸦鸦的一群人。他叹了口气，说，被打散的站一边，自己逃走的站一边。于是人群自动的分成了两边。他又说，逃走的跟我来。进了医院，擦肩而过的医生和护士异样的眼神。到了二楼，转过身来，他对人群说，你们要是不走，会少死多少弟兄啊。
